HISTORY

The origins of the company lie in an electrical installations company in Cholet called S.A. BOSSARD, which developed a panel cabling production unit in the 1970s to meet its customers’ requirements.

Its development over 3 dates:

1st January 1980

Birth of SOREEL, SOciété de Réalisation d'Equipements Electriques (electrical equipment production company), whose object is the study and construction of low voltage electrical equipment.

1st July 1985

SOREEL integrates with the Meunier Group (Brest). Through this relationship, SOREEL begins a progression, which has enabled it to become one of the leading independent French manufacturers of electrical panels (i.e. not affiliated to a switchgear manufacturer). This synergy has enabled it to develop into innovative fields such as on-board industrial information technology and approach OEM (Original Equipment Manufacturer) with very specific requirements.

20th December 2005

SOREEL integrates with the KOHLER Group, which also takes over the other companies in the Meunier Group’s Energy Division, comprising SDMO Industries and Béalas Energie Services (“B.E.S).

Founded in 1873, KOHLER, whose head office is in Wisconsin, is one of the oldest and largest family companies in the USA. It is one of the leaders in the production of motors and energy generation systems, kitchen and bathroom equipment, household fittings and real estate.
